Fences and Fence Gates.
A fence is an essential element of a good house garden, as it provides security from strangers, stray animals and pets besides being a beautiful compound border. It gives you also privacy and checks errands of your pets and toddlers.
Fences are made of many materials and in different styles.
Decorative wire fence: It offers beauty, security while being economical and protective. You can have many colors and styles of mesh. Check for the right size of mesh opening based on your needs.
Chain link fencing: These also look beautiful with all the advantages of mesh fences.
Ornamental Iron fence: These fences made of wrought iron or aluminium, in ready made frames or separate weldable pieces. The ornate designs add to the elegance, beauty and value of the building.
Vinyl Fencing: A relatively new development, this is less expensive and imitates every look and design of metals and wood. But these are not sturdy.
Wood fencing: For those who love the patterns of cut wood, the designs it can take, it is a good fence material. It is prone to rots, decays, pest attacks, fire etc.
Solar Fences: These can be useful where intrusion is apprehended or security alert is high, as for VVIP buildings, houses located in the woods etc.
General guidelines for fences: Many a time a fence’s visual appeal outweighs its other drawbacks, particularly you are fond of it. The fence color and appearance must compliment the overall look of house and its yard. If you think of lack of privacy with chain link and wire mesh fences, raise bushy plants or hedges along and inside the fence.
While selecting the fence, care should be given to recurring costs of maintenance, its ability to withstand rough handling, damaging by vehicles or machinery and abuse by children.
A fence gate, whether at main entrance or at backyard garden entrance is very important too. First of all, it must seamlessly merge into its surroundings. It must not look out of place and perfectly match the fence or compound wall. Remember, it’s the first thing to come across by visitors.
Security Gates: Huge and extra strong iron or steel gates with lock and key arrangements or electronically controlled safety features. These include remote control, activation by user code, fixing of surveillance cameras, speaker systems etc.
A great or good looking or fortified fence gate at main entrance would always up the curiosity of what lies beyond it. Go for great, nice and just choice of gate and make your mark on the visitors before they enter!
