Choosing a Hammock.

Hammocks are made in fabric, ropes or nets in various shapes and sizes. They can take single person to a small family. These are available for $ to $. Choosing a hammock requires attention to quality of fabric/ net and ropes as well as its durability.

Ideally, for good comfort and to let the hammock relieve your body of all pressure points, it should at least be 10 feet long or a feet or two longer than your length. It also should not be too long, as it affects stability increasing the chances of fall.

Selecting a hammock depends on its usage and your budget.  Net / Rope type are ideal for home gardens and holidaying, whereas, the fabric type is ideal for campers for comfort and prolonged usage.

Today, Mayan type hammock, as called  as Yucatan Hammock and Mexican Hammock, without spreader bars, is  most popular. Hammocks with non-removable spreader bars are difficult to wash in tubs or machines.

In busy tropical beaches and island resorts, hammock camping does not spoil the locations as in case of ground camping arrangements. Besides, It looks elegant and blends well into the natural surroundings.

If you have a large house and garden, you can try a hammock and aluminium portable stand combo. Once the hammock is fixed to stand, it can be moved to any spot in your garden and take it back later, to keep in a store or garage.

Hammocks kept evolving too. As with hammock overhead covers, there are even hammock rockers, drink stands, bug screens, even a truck bed hammock for truckers to hang beneath the bed and so on.
